Is it better to market online with social media or the search engines?

With so many social media sites out there do you think they will replace the search engine for marketing online or for folks to find what they are looking for?

Stick with the major search engines. When people are looking for goods or services, more often than not, they will use a search engine to find it, not facebook, myspace or youtube.

Were going to be targeting Non-Profit Organizations as well as medium to small sized private companies. We are hoping for a sleek/fun brand image – and will be offering social media marketing, physical ads (ie. commercials, print etc) and electronic (web design) as well as marketing strategies.

If a girl who started her own Social Media Marketing business at the age of 15 and has an impressive clientele list and has worked with quite a few high profiled people before is in college…
She has good grades. Not IVY league grade material but decent. Shes in high level classes (advanced, honors, IB) and has a 2100 SAT score..

With her achievements could she get into an ivy leauge? Student wise she isn’t outstanding but she was able to start her own successful business before college…

does she have a good chance?

Since most everyone who apply to all those top schools has perfect grades, perfect SATs, and lots more, those schools have started looking for something more. What sets you apart? What’s one area where you’ve shown real passion? I’d say you probably have that. So: Good chance.

Great question. Social media requires a lot of attention and work. A company needs to be able to monitor and converse on twitter and facebook among the other 1500 sites. I can’t recommend one site, but the one that was mentioned before Travel Spike seem to be the market experts.
